While this was a real business, as far as I've been able to tell from searching the internet this clip was not a genuine commercial, but just some fooling around between actual takes.
Back in the latter part of the last century, there was a car dealer, Cal Worthington, in Southern Cal. He was noted for his goofy commercials featuring his dog Spot, which was never, to my knowledge, ever actually a canine.
