A small, but pleasing, victory

One thing Trump's victory apparently accomplished was to shut up perennially po-faced Liz Cheney: "WHERE’S LIZ CHENEY? Disgraced Former Congresswoman Conceded Trump’s Victory… and Has Been Silent Ever Since". Less than two weeks ago, Cheney was on The View, and Whoopi Goldberg was spinning out a fantasy in which Cheney might become Kamala Harris's attorney general. The audience of trained seals barked and clapped, and Cheney sat there with the most obnoxious facial expression of faux diffidence (As if to say, "What, little old me? Oh, I simply couldn't...").

I also read somewhere that those two blubber-wrapped larynxes, Rob Reiner and Michael Moore, have disappeared from the radar screen. Probably in therapy. Or sitting in the dark, in their respective homes, devouring pizzas, watching old videos of Obama's speeches.

  1. Oh no, should we do a wellness check?

No, we should not. For one thing, I can't be bothered, and for another, none of those massive egos would do self harm. Let them stew in the darkness, sooner or later their need for attention will drive them back to social media.

  2. My question is, why aren't they packing to leave the country?

  3. Mark Hamill (has been actor) especially hates Trump ... ... and he's been silent since the day after the elections as well.

    Hopefully it's permanent.

  4. ...have disappeared from the radar screen.

If they don't have a wide-screen radar, they probably wouldn't fit on the screen.

  5. See, Rob Reiner is Jewish and maybe imagines the 4th Reich has arrived, but Australia's billionaire Anthony Pratt (Przecicki) is ALSO Jewish and is moving to Trump's America. Into the lion's mouth? But as they say, two Jews three opinions.

    1. Most progressive Jews are secular. That is, their "Judaism" is only a social and cultural marker.

It's not restricted to American Jews, of course. Most progressive Christians are also secular.

    2. Funny, I can't remember the word secular being used in that way in pre-internet Australian/British discourse outside of universities, and then only referring to trends and not individuals. I think it has deep roots in the American education system though, from Horace Mann to Dewey. Nothing like the Scopes Trial happened elsewhere AFAIK, and that was NOT because of American religion but the opposite. The way secular progessivism is imbedded in US culture is unique in the Anglosphere I think. Feel free to debate that, I'm open to persuasion.

    3. I have an Israeli friend who's an observant Jew - he told me lots about how he strtictly follows Yom Kippur for example. But he also says he's an atheist, because of the Holocaust, sadly. Maybe in the US it's easier to describe someone as 'secular', but I don't know elsewhere. I can't use the word for individuals, doesn't sound right. That applies to the Catholics I grew up with too.

  6. Meathead's last known sighting was at X.
'Kamala Harris will be the 47th President of the United States.'
As good an epitaph as any for such a know-nothing blowhard.
