I guess I should pay more attention to what's going on in South Korea
This reminds me of the, if not "bad old days" at least the "not so good days." I was stationed in Korea in the mid Eighties, during the Chun Doo-hwan regime. It was the last gasp of the heavy handed and corrupt managed democracy they were gradually moving out of, into a more truly representative government.
The rapid denunciation and revocation of martial law by a 190-0 vote and the troops quietly returning to garrison is a very good sign.
