I suppose the Iranians actually would love to get some coal in their stockings

Seeing as how the bespectacled theocrats who run the country have created their own very special energy crisis.

Iran sits on some of the most expansive energy reserves in the world, both in oil and natural gas. Had they spent the last two decades developing those fields rather than nuclear weapons, perhaps Iranians would be able to turn on the lights and the heat this winter. Instead, the teetering mullahcracy faces a potentially destabilizing energy crisis...

Trump's accession to the White House is likely to make things much more difficult for the mullahs - perhaps difficult enough to effect regime change. In any event, what a refreshing change it will be from the insane pro-Iran policies of Obama and his puppet, Biden.

  1. No doubt Trump will negotiate (firmly) with Iran, but I would love to see him kick the mullahs around like the vermin they are.

  2. Given Iran's petroleum reserves, that takes a fair degree of forward thinking and strategic planning.

We can tighten the screws even more by increasing US energy output. That will cut prices across the globe.

  3. It's tempting to advocate for regime change, and our government has been behind a bunch of it, but then the power vacuum it creates seems to bring in civil war and somewhat worse regimes. I hear that the Shah's son has put his house in Potomac, M D up for sale, maybe as a prelude to reestablishing himself as rightful ruler of Iran, who knows..

    1. Whatever happens there I'd prefer we not have a direct hand in it.

But it would be satisfying for Jimmy Carter to live long enough to see a Pahlavi restoration.
