"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
I like a shotgun with hammers, I don't like the hammerless look.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm about the only one.
I like the coach guns with rabbit ears. I don't own one, but I've been looking a couple over online (CZ and Heritage both offer nice-looking double-barreled shotguns with external hammers). What I particularly like about them - besides the cool factor - is that you can break them open, load them and snap the barrels back in place without the gun automatically cocking. I have a "hammerless" double bbl, and I don't like to leave it loaded because of the prolonged tension in the invisible hammer springs (or strikers or whatever you call them).
DeleteI had one from Chiappa, I was upset when I saw it was from the PRC. I thought Chiappa would be from Italy.
Deletegot it used, that was the first one I sold when I was broke.
I'd like to get another one but I have an 1887 now. Same length barrel, shorter handle, lever action, wood furniture and case hardened receiver. It's purty.
