I'd be surprised if Trump can pull off his plan to get rid of the Department of Education, but I'd be delighted to see it go. It has served no purpose but to expand the education bureaucracies at both the national and state levels, as well as the highly partisan teachers' unions that exist only to pilfer the public treasury. Oh, and student test scores have fallen steadily since the department was created. In conjunction with fighting the DEI, transgender and anti-American activities that have been adopted in many schools, this proposal could initiate the return of sanity to many of these institutions.

And in those hives of leftist propaganda in the big blue cities (and elsewhere), where the allegiance to commie pedagogy will not die, there are great opportunities for entrepreneurs who want to siphon off some of the riches that local taxpayers keep heaping onto the education bureaucrats. For example, Progressive Academies for Children Online is a fee-based system that can easily be adapted to the regular schedule of most left-leaning elementary schools.
