"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
I prefer the look of Winchesters.
ReplyDeleteI just think there's something clunky looking about Marlins.
I like Henrys with brass receivers too, not so much the blued ones.
I prefer the more pronounced curve of the hand grip section of the Marlin stock to the Winchester's straighter line, but the one Winchester I own (an 1866 commemorative in 30-30) has a smoother action than my Marlin 338. I'm not a big fan of brass receivers, because, inevitably, that's the first part of the gun I manage to get a scratch on. I prefer blued, or color case hardened receivers. But the truth is, the metal used in the receiver is not a deal killer for me. I'd gladly settle for a Winchester (or other lever gun) with a brass receiver if I could find one in .32 Winchester Special.
