Personally, I think giant wind "farms" are aesthetically hideous. They also kill a lot of birds - big birds, like eagles and hawks. Another thumb in the eye of the Greens!
They cost too much money to build, they damage the environment, they’re ugly, and the whole alternative wind energy industry was never anything but a giant con.
ReplyDeleteThey're aways going on about "carbon footprint". I wonder how long it would take to offset the carbon produced building all those turbines, and placing them in the middle of the ocean.
ReplyDeleteI spoke to a bloke who builds wind turbines and he told me there is about 700 cubic yards of concrete in the foundations of the land based towers. I reckon there would be more in the offshore ones. I would love to see how long those blades need to spin to make up for the CO2 used in the concrete alone.
