Money down the drain

From time to time, practically everybody spends money on something pointless and stupid.

One of my neighbors spent close to a hundred thousand dollars to have a swimming pool built in his tiny backyard. His wife didn't want it, and I've never seen him in it himself. His kids and grandkids live far away and visit him maybe once a year. Even the neighbors won't use it.

I have another neighbor who built an arbor on his back porch next to his sunroom. He doesn't plan on growing anything on it, and it isn't well situated to provide shade. What was the point?

I myself made a useless purchase a week ago, having been fetched by the bright, cheerful design on some dinner plates and glasses at Dollar Tree. The first time Mrs. Paco hand-washed one of the plates, the design started to peel right off.

But of all the utterly useless expenditures of money, this one surely takes the cake: "Beleaguered Joe Biden Hires Democratic Operative to ‘Defend His Reputation’ Post-Presidency".

Your "reputation", Joe? Ain't nobody goin' to be able to polish that turd.

Huh. He never stopped claiming that he is the most successful President in history, the media never stopped claiming he was the most successful President in history, the Dems never stopped claiming he was the most successful President in history...

So why does he need somebody to manage his reputation? Is he afraid that somebody hasn't yet heard that he was the most successful Presiden tin history?

  3. Well, that's surprising.
The guy Biden hired isn't named Sisyphus.

  4. "He was too senile to be charge of the debacle that was his presidency." is about the only thing that would work.
