Will keep an open mind...

...but initial take is not particularly good: "Pope Leo XIV Supports Open Borders — Previously Took Aim at VP J.D. Vance for Defending American Sovereignty".

Here's a thought, your holiness: how about appealing to the people of Mexico and Guatemala and Algeria and so forth to do their fair share in taking care of their own less fortunate citizens? Perhaps you could suggest that these places get their own political and economic houses in order so as to offer their people an option other than immigration? If you do truly believe in open borders, why don't you start with Vatican City? Charity begins at home, right?

    1. Papal secretary: Your holiness, Vice President Vance is here to see you.

Pope: No, no! Tell him I'm in...er...London or someplace!

    2. If JD could make a pit stop in Canberra and meet our re-elected clownshow government, we'd really appreciate it.

  2. I don't know much about him, but I compared his first time on the balcony with the pictures of Francis and Benedict; Francis wore just the white vestments, Benedict wore the full regalia and Leo came out in full regalia; Francis asked the people to bless him, Benedict and Leo gave the crowd a blessing; let's see if he goes back to the hotel like Francis or takes the Papal Palace apartments, he's looking like a break from modern to more traditional, we'll see.
