Happy National Hot Dog Day!
Mrs. Paco and I stopped by Circle K today, which was offering two hot dogs for a dollar; getting ready to enjoy one shortly. And I'm not going to judge, but I'll leave you with Dirty Harry's opinion on an important hot dog controversy...
Mustard, yes.
ReplyDeleteRelish, OK.
Ketchup ....... NO!!!!!
My name is Nobody. Ketchup & relish, either sweet, or dill.
ReplyDeleteCorndogs? Mustard it is.
My town had two hot dog places, they sold what they called Texas hot weiners.
ReplyDeleteDallas Hot Weiners was one, run by Greeks. One went out of business after they tried to put the other one out of business. Pissed off the whole city.
Served with their hot sauce, mustard and diced onions.
The hot sauce was kinda thin, with finely fround ground beef. It's almost worth going to NY just to get them.
I've said "3 no onions, fries and and RC' probably 8,000 times.
I've eaten hot dogs any other way probably 30 times, at most, my whole life.
When I attended the University of Detroit back in the fall of '73, I used to go occasionally to a hot dog place that had some kind of Greek name (I think it was Onassis). The hot dogs were great, and they also served crinkle fries that had a vinegary taste. The first time I ate the fries, the new taste startled me, but I pretty much immediately fell in love with them.
DeleteI do like RC, but most places seem to have coke products or pepsi products, every once in a while I see Dr Pepper, I do like to swing by the club and get a $1.50 hot dog and soda lunch from time to time, but I'm a nobody.
ReplyDeleteRC is my favorite cola.
