"BONDI OR BONGINO: Bongino Won’t Remain At FBI If Bondi Keeps Job, Source Says".

Given the strange outcome of Bondi's "investigation" of the Epstein information, something like this was bound to happen.

I sure don't know the truth of this Epstein business, but I think the way the final report was handled - a big nothing-burger after months and, indeed, years of speculation about client lists and possible involvement by the rich and powerful in the sexual exploitation of young women - was guaranteed to generate further controversy. Was it all just a load of crap, or is there a cover-up which is still ongoing? Obviously, even people within the administration don't seem to agree - or perhaps they do, but they have radically different notions of how to proceed.

  1. We've got our 'Who Killed JFK?' for the new century.
Like you, Paco, I don't know the truth of this story. But I sure as hell am curious about the comment by Pam Bondi that she had documents 'on her desk'. Which have turned out not to include a list. Okay, but surely there were a few names dropped somewhere in all the paperwork?
The 2016 deposition from Virginia Giuffre seems to have fallen down the back of the filing cabinet, too.

  2. This Epstein case is being used as a wedge issue to split the MAGA community. If Bongino, Patel or Bondi resign it will be a huge win for the Deep State which opposed their confirmations.

    1. Indeed. Cynical Publius points out the flip side:

Dear MAGA People Prone to Conspiracy Thinking (Which is Rightfully Most of Us):

Please consider the fact that the current DOJ, led by Pam Bondi, has resulted in more courtroom successes for the modern conservative agenda than any of us have ever experienced in any of our lifetimes, even if you are 100+ years old.

Please consider further that the current DOJ, led by Pam Bondi, has done so while causing the Democrats and rogue judges to wholly discredit themselves via sheer narcissistic stupidity.

Please consider further that this is all a transformational approach that has completely changed the trajectory of the America justice system and has allowed the enactment of the most significant aspects of the MAGA agenda.

Finally, please consider further that the REAL conspiracy is to destroy such success by making MAGAs rabid over Epstein evidence that may or may not exist, thereby wrecking DOJ leadership in the same manner as when Jeff Sessions was sabotaged.

I’m pretty good at spotting actual conspiracies to undermine our success, so please consider all I have to say.

      Your pal,
      CP

  4. No doubt the Left is trying to use this as a wedge issue, and I hope Bondi, Bongino and Patel can come to amicable terms before this matter completely blows up. I still think the administration should have done a better job rolling this out; on the other hand, the high expectations, I believe, were mostly whipped up by outside observers, not by Trump's people.

    1. I agree. Trump needs to own this problem, and set the record straight.

If there are national security implications (which I see as entirely plausible), say so.

  5. I don’t believe there’s no client list. What I do believe is that it may be more political damage to release it than we’re prepared for. As for political feuds, they seem to be more childish these days than in the past, but they could be just more political theater because of social media.

  6. At one time I sorta cared about the Epstein kerfuffle but that time has long since passed. Don't we have better things to get worked up over?

  7. My main concern was that the trafficking was ended and that the victims got justice. With Jeffrey Epstein dead and Ghislaine Maxwell in prison for 20 years, I guess that is at least partial justice. The scum who consorted with Epstein's girls will have to wait until they face the Final Judge, I suppose.

We do, indeed, have better things to get worked up over. The increasingly despotic inferior Federal courts, for example, and the overarching need to smash the power of the politicized bureaucracy - not to mention deporting the millions of illegal aliens that the Democrats have permitted to infest our country, and - oh, yes - bringing the plotters of treason to justice (Brennan, Comey et al).

    1. Yeah, that's pretty much where I'm at now. I'm not convinced there's nothing to the files, but we have bigger problems to deal with.

  8. The biggest problem is that Bondi said she had info and was going to release it and then said it didn't exist.
Now, after the utterly blatant lying by our fine political betters we've seen for a long time, it's somehow Trump's supporters fault for not believing that.
I get that Trump is doing a hell of a lot for America and he can't get to all of it in a day, but seriously, arrest someone for something.

    1. Yes, I think the contrast between Bondi's initial promise and her final conclusion is the primary thing that led to all the exasperation. Americans deserve better than "shut up and eat your peas". If there's nothing to report, tell us why you came to that conclusion. If there are intelligence aspects that it would be unwise to disclose, you can explain that without giving anything classified away.
