H/T: Sondrak's Gulch
"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
I don’t see a distinction.
ReplyDeleteUntil the late 19-teens, there was no difference. Benito Mussolini was kicked out of the Italian Socialist Party because he advocated Italy joining WWI... and thus decided to create his own unique innovation by making a socialist party that was nationalist rather than international.
ReplyDeleteEven what became the Soviets started as "socialists" before adopting the term "Communist." mainly to distinguish themselves from all the other hard left parties.
Even Hitler dabbled in Communism after WWI, being named a soldier's delegate to a short lived Bavarian "Red" government.
I'm sure the distinction is that Mamdani will do it right this time.
