While I don't believe Newsom is actually stupid, he is very very very dumb. Maybe if he pulled his head out of his butt for a few minutes to look around he might be less so.
He is willfully ignorant. It's functionally the same as stupidity so sometimes it's hard to know which is which. There are none so dumb as those whe refuse to see, to butcher a quote.
It's going to be interesting, that's for sure. I would think the donks might want to choose someone less controversial, like former NC governor Roy Cooper, but the party's extreme left-wing would probably derail anybody who looks like a moderate (btw, Cooper isn't really a moderate, he just disguises his garden-variety leftism better than showboats like Newsom).
In that case, I think we Pacoistas can expect an invitation to that state dinner, yes?
