The Rogak P-18. If you see this on a table at a gun show, just keep moving.

"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Whoa! That's a HORRIBLE gun. I wouldn't touch that one with a vaccinated crow bar.
ReplyDeleteWho bought it? Hopefully not a gang banger, they'd come hunting for the manufacturer's staff ....
I'm not sure I'd even feel comfortable using this thing as a club; a piece might break off and hit me in the eye or something.
DeleteThe Edsel of handguns.
ReplyDeleteI just read something about it.
ReplyDelete"The fit on the gas delay system was too loose to actually hold gas pressure, resulting in the Rogak acting as a simple blowback pistol. To compensate for this, Rogak added a sort of fiber buffer stack in the receiver to reduce the slide battering on the frame, and ground off the extractor claw to prevent the rapid slide opening from tearing cartridge rims off."
It doesn't work, stick a shim in! Brilliant!
Monkey with a Dremel indeed.

I'd rather read than watch a long vid.
There is one horrible gun I'd jump at the chance to buy, just because it's legendary. I'd probably never shoot it, and would probably leave it in my safe, inside another locked box.
ReplyDeleteThat is, of course, the USFA Zip 22: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9bULArrKs4
Whoa. Whomever designed that Zip 22 was either being blackmailed by the owner, or went through life in a drug induced haze.
DeleteI swear I posted a comment on this thread.
ReplyDeleteIt had a link so it might have gone in the spam bucket.
Or.... I've been banned. Which I probably deserve.
V, the spam gremlin grabbed your comment. I wrestled with him, and although he put up a good fight, clean living prevailed, and I got it back.
