Well, that's different

"High-Speed Justice: A Custom 1970 Plymouth Satellite Sedan"

The 1970 Plymouth Satellite Sedan crossing the block at Kissimmee 2026 as Lot E201.1 is more than just a custom cruiser. It serves as a fascinating tribute to a legendary piece of law enforcement history from the early 1980s. During that era, the New Mexico Highway Patrol confiscated a genuine Superbird to intercept high-speed violators along Interstate 40. This build recreates that pursuit aesthetic by applying the iconic “winged warrior” aerodynamic package to a four-door sedan body. It combines the utility of a standard patrol car with the radical performance visuals of NASCAR-inspired design.

  1. I'm going to cruise 40 through New Mexico tomorrow, seeing it might be bittersweet.
    It's darn purty yhough.

    1. I remember driving through New Mexico back in late 1991. We were on our way to Peoria, AZ, where we were going to close on a house and I was going to start graduate school. I recall some snow on the ground, and some distant , very pretty red mesas. New Mexico really is a land of enchantment with respect to its natural features; with respect to its government and liberal culture, not so much.

    2. Btw, I peruse real estate listings in AZ from time to time - still dreaming - and I found what appears to be a great house near Maricopa (the town, located in Pinal County). Big place on 9 acres, backs up against some mountains. Ominously, though, it's been for sale for almost 300 days, so there's something going on. Probably too remote. And at our age, we probably don't won't to live too terribly far from a hospital.

  2. "confiscated a genuine Superbird"

Would be an interesting story to hear...if true.

    1. I wonder what crime would have given the police the authority to confiscate it. Transporting drugs with the intent to sell might have been enough.
