And then, at some point, the manufacturers decided to actually tell us what was new. Rack and pinion? Disc brakes? But back then apparently all it took to create buzz was "new!"
These days - for me, anyway - the word "new" brings feelings of anxiety; mostly, I think, because of the years of "upgrades" to various computer systems and apps that frequently made everything worse.

That was a favorite show of mine, growing up. Loved the reruns!
I watched it as a kid, too. I also liked the movies featuring Francis the talking mule; Chill Wills' voice was perfect in that series.
