Probably should have spent more time thinking this one through

"Pro-Palestine Activists in Virginia Paint Watermelon Mural, Angering Black Residents Who Say it’s Racist".

Pro-Palestinian activists in Richmond, Virginia have painted a watermelon mural on a local building. The seeds of the fruit are arranged to spell out ‘Free Palestine.’
The watermelon has long been a symbol of Palestinian activism, but it is also seen by many as a black stereotype and some black residents are not cool with the painting as a result.

Really? First I've heard about the connection between watermelons and Palestinians. Apparently, it's the first time many Richmond residents have heard about it, too.

Now what we have to do is persuade those leftist dopes in Richmond that they need to do another mural featuring the pillars of Palestinian resistance: keffiyehs, kaa'in (being) and kaafaHa (struggle). M'yes, the three K's of Palestinian activism. Paint that on the side of a building on downtown Broad Street and see what happens.

  1. This shows how disconnected from reality many people are.

Either those activists were unaware of the watermelon stereotype, or they engaged in, ahem, cultural appropriation. Weapons grade stupidity.

And I agree, painting the three K's of Palestinian activism in a public forum is a wonderful idea!

    1. And when the Palestinian activists show up, they should all wear all white keffiyahs covering their faces to make a bigger impact.

  2. I looked up the area to get the street view before picture; it was a bit of an eyesore; RVA has gone all in on building murals; there's a smaller "hope" mural on the building across from it that doesn't fill the whole wall, there's room for a plate fried chicken ... and waffles
