We were a Brioschi family. Alka Seltzer worked, but it was a pain figuring out when to drink it. Brioschi was granulated, you spooned it in and drank. Archie Bunker used bicarbonate of soda, I tried it and it worked great. It was quite the belch.
Both that line and "Try it, you'll like it!" became catch phrases. I suppose today if you said either one you'd be met with a blank stare.
