A Stroll in the Park

The environs of the secret Paco Command Center have assumed the taupe, gray and sepia colors of winter, but the balmy temperature today made for an enjoyable walk for the missus and me (and Mabel, the official dog of Paco Enterprises).







The area is alive with deer and foxes, both of which I’ve seen crossing Barkley Road early in the morning on my way to work. And something’s been skittering around on my roof in the predawn hours (at least, I hope it’s the roof, and not the attic).

Back to work tomorrow, unfortunately. On the other hand, it’s just a three-day work-week for me; I get Jan. 1st off, of course, and I’m taking the second off, as well, since it will be our 31st wedding anniversary. Now, which one is that? Not silver; not gold. Kevlar, possibly?

    I see global warming strikes again! I'm glad to say it's finally hit Perth - after a coolish start to Christmas we are now heading into the high thirties (90s? for those nostalgically clinging to imperial measures). Like our host I'm chained to a desk Christmas-New Years Eve but New Years Day will be spent on a beach near Margaret River.

    RE: Anniversary - About.com has nothing listed as a 'traditional' gift for #31. I think kevlar is every bit as proper as what they list for a modern gift, which is time pieces.

    Nothing says True, Long-lasting Love better than bullet-resistant clothing!

    Congratulations on hitting 31 years being owned by a great woman Paco! Not too many men get that privilege.

    That said, she's pretty damn lucky too. A great sleuth as a husband, two fantastic, successful children, she must be very happy.
