Assortment

1) I’m developing a “strange new respect” for Mickey Rourke .

2) Honest Barack Obama’s fans plan to double-down on the Lincoln theme, with an inaugural luncheon “that’s modeled after foods Lincoln enjoyed.” The luncheon will be followed by the suspension of habeas corpus and a Civil War.

3) Now, that’s funny.

4) Steve Gill ponders the upcoming inauguration circus, and identifies some very scary clowns.

5) No Pasaran has the latest update on octopus-shaped UFOs.

UPDATE: And thank you, Vermont, for sending preening, sanctimonious ass, Bernie Sanders, to the U.S. Senate.

UPDATE II: Oops, almost forgot this story; you have to read all the way to the end, though.

  1. "What is supposedly a day intended to unite the country behind a new president and celebrate a peaceful and democratic transition of power is quickly devolving into a parade of liberal extremist pet peeves. Perhaps we should just put the parade participants on the sideline and let these varied interest groups march down the street displaying their particular grievances and agendas. America would then have a clear picture of who is actually moving into power in Washington."
    i wholeheartedly agree

  2. Meh, this inauguration lost all appeal to me when I saw that The Mighty O! is charging an arm and a leg for tickets. For the Dims, it's just another chance to scam more money from the chumps.

  3. And, oh yeah, the Obama based schlock that keeps on appearing for sale. That's another thing that turned me.

  4. BTW, Missred, didn't you tell me once that you work somewhere in the D.C. area? Are you getting that day off? I am, but I don't know if it's just because I work in a building overlooking Lafayette Park, or whether all federal employees are getting the day off.

  5. Not all federal employees get the day off, Paco. At least, I haven't heard that word.

If we do, I'm going to the range. Because I can.

  6. I think it is only the Directly Overlooking Potomac Employees that have the day off.

I think some of the National Office Program Employees should be able to march in the parade. All your union stewards could march behind their AFSCME/ANSWER banner.

  7. I definitely want all the liberal extremists there, strutting their stuff. The American people need to see the grievance industry in all its glory, so that the media will be shamed into ignoring them from now on, instead of giving them ink and airspace.
