"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
How about a motto? "Have Teleprompter, Will Travel" sound right.
ReplyDeletePaco, I heard today on the radio, or read somewhere??, that by 2012, the US Federal government will have run up an additional #12 trillion of debt.
ReplyDeleteThis is madness. What do the dimowits think they can achieve with this insanity?
Wimpy: Among other things, I think it's a sign of the true economic illiteracy of Obama and the liberal Democrats. They have no idea of the folly of their static analysis, and are apparently convinced that companies and individuals won't alter their behaviors, no matter how idiotic the fiscal policy.
ReplyDeleteThere's also more than a little ego involved. I think that Obama hates losing, and hates admitting mistakes. Going back on his budget, for whatever reason, would mean both.
ReplyDeleteCompromise is not what Obama does, in spite of all his "bipartisan" jabbering.
JeffS, how about "Have Teleprompter, Will Speak"?
ReplyDeleteRetread
I heard one the other day I rather liked..... TOTUS Telepromter of the United States.....
ReplyDeleteAmong other things, I think it's a sign of the true economic illiteracy of Obama and the liberal Democrats.
ReplyDeleteI think you are being too kind. Although I've never been one to buy into grand conspiracies, the sheer magnitude of supposed ineptitude so far is making me paranoid enough to believe that this is, truly, a bold-faced socialist grab for power. I started this presidential phase disappointed that McCain didn't win (not that I was a great fan), but wishing Obama well anyway, for the good of the country. What has transpired so far is horrifying.
The man is either manufacturing chaos deliberately for the purpose of pursuing an agenda, or he is, as we suspected all along, a corrupt, ignorant, incompetent Chicago politician who wouldn't be able to run a pet shelter without community volunteers to show him where the toilet paper is kept. And that goes double for the ditch-diggers in Congress.
Rebecca, I'm afraid that your analysis is close to the truth. Truth be told, I'd prefer the incompetency; we could deal with the aftermath, as we did with Carter.
ReplyDeleteA naked grab for power though.....that would be ugly.
"A naked grab for power though.....that would be ugly."
ReplyDeleteChange we can believe in?
Absolutely, rinardman. Absolutely.
ReplyDeleteTruly, Obama is at the Acme of his profession...!
ReplyDeleteWhite House Disaster
ReplyDeleteTW: menvite: aboriginal: Mistah Obama menvite you leave Oval Office plenty big quick...
My theory is softer but just as worrying: Emperor's new clothes.
ReplyDeleteie Obama is so inexperienced he does not realise he needs to surround himself with critics rather than yes-men, while no one in his newly-elevated circle would dare on their own initiative to say, 'Mr Pres you are making a mistake'.
Even if this is only partly true the effect will be serious. Compare GWB who wanted Cheney at his side etc.
