Cash for Clunkers: The Model for Obama Care

The brilliant Doctor Zero, over at Hot Air's Green room, shows up the government's cash-for-clunkers program for the exercise in stupidity that it genuinely is. Indeed, in several respects - diverting money to an inefficient program, grossly underestimating the costs, and failing utterly to grasp the idea of the residual asset value of clunkers that may have some productive life left in them, but are nonetheless simply being destroyed - I think we see the template for Obama Care. And as someone who is steadily marching toward clunkerhood, himself, I view the Democrat's health care plans as ominous in the extreme.

Oh, and in case you need further proof that Tim Geithner was not really the Man on the White Horse that he was touted as being, check out Allahpundit's comments and his video link.

Geithner was nominated by Obama. That alone dispels the notion he's a some dude on a white horse.

As for the government ever being efficient.....ain't gonna happen. There is simply no motivation in government to be efficient, especially not when layers of bureaucracy are added for "improved management". The "Cash For Clunkers" program is a simple one; translate this relatively minor fiasco into the medical field, and I think I'll start stockpiling vitamins and aspirins.

And the notion of not taxing the middle class? I'm sure it was at the top of the list all along.

Yeah, but then you'll live longer, and you know what that means: you'll start getting brochures from the government on the benefits of assisted suicide.

Too late, Paco. That phase of Obamacare has already started.

Note to self: add ammunition to shopping list, in addition to vitamins and aspirin.

You're worried! I already live in the clunkerhood, and I am not a happy camper.

This *might* be good news. In the sense that Obama will have to spin at supersonic speeds in order to explain how the Feds will pay for Obamacare.

Especially in light of Turbo Tax Tim once again going under the bus.

On the other hand, Geithner is a bit closer to reality than Obama, and is a remarkably poor liar.....unlike Obama.
