Hmmmm...

Sounds a bit counterintuitive to me:
[T]hieves have broken into a Dutch prison to steal the inmates' televisions.

Twice in the last six weeks, burglars broke into a minimum-security prison and stole TVs from cells while prisoners were on weekend furloughs, a spokesman for the justice ministry said on Wednesday.

  3. BoaB, that's brilliant! That ought to be posted everywhere.

As for the Dutch prison... they actually have prisons?

Apparently they do but they send everybody home for the weekend.....including the guards apparently....

  5. What else does one do after leaving the cafe smelling of that thick sweet aroma of Amsterdams' cafes but break into a jail? Probably sounded like a good plan at the time. Don't ya just love when a plan comes together! Did they hit the *break room for the munchies?

*No pun was intended, but hey, it works.

  6. I'm sure it couldn't be a past alumnus of the institution who did the deed.

After all, everyone knows that jails like this reform people and they'll never go back to a life of crime.

  7. It's probably easier to break into prison than it is out. They're not set up for it.
