Bumbling Barry's Super-Competent Research Team

The president commiserates with unemployed woman, and holds her up as an example of the need for more government props. Turns out, though, that she had been fired by her company about a month after she had been charged with prescription drug fraud. She had also previously been charged with grand (later reduced to petit) larceny.

"Petit" larceny? How very tasteful and understated, Packers old chum...

After a few minutes of exhaustive research into Blackstone and Maitland, I found that that is the correct spelling (which came as a surprise to me).

When the postmortem on the Obama administration has finally begun, you'll find large swathes of people who will claim, wide-eyed and breathlessly, that Obama was never given a proper chance, and that nefarious evil-doers in government were "out to get him". The simple truth is, though, that nobody has to sabotage him and that bunch of academic droolers, because they all do such a beautiful job of it themselves.

That's what they always say about socialism.

I'd feel bad about that crack about "academic droolers" if I wasn't more or less surrounded by them a lot of the time.

They should be made to wear drool buckets.

And all the damned evidence in the world won't convince a single one of them that Socialism doesn't work. Hell, it pretty obviously doesn't even work in their own little academic environment.

The jealousy and petty [correct spelling, I think] rage around he can be truly weird.

JorgX: It was spelled "petit" in the article. According to this site, either way is correct.

You're right about socialists. To them, it is an article of faith.

According to the adherents the only problem with socialism is the people running it. They were sure they had the right set of players this time. That's the problem you run into when you never ask external questions relating to your system. That's one reason whythese little dolts keeping sticking to their little mantras and storylines. Embracing reality always asks you to confront the underlying tenants of your value system.

By my count, they have yet to put up a victim that is actually as advertised. The people they trotted out in the health care debate turned out to be frauds as well. How difficult is it to find some person who actually has a valid set of particulars? Good grief, with so many in the unemployed category you really have to work at getting someone like that.
