While Sgt. James B. Hurley was away at war, he lost a heartbreaking battle at home.This kind of thing seems to be happening all around the country - and not just to veterans.
In violation of a law intended to protect active military personnel from creditors, agents of Deutsche Bank foreclosed on his small Michigan house, forcing Sergeant Hurley’s wife, Brandie, and her two young children to move out and find shelter elsewhere.

Jeez. Either case sends a chill up my spine. Bbut both of them? The potential that they represent for major problems as yet unseen is astounding. And terrifying.
ReplyDeleteYet.....my sympathies lie with Brian and Ilsa. People are (effectively) punished for following rules concerning [insert program of choice here] every day. The incentive to not follow the rules is getting greater and greater.
Obama will bail him out. Oh, wait. He's not Wall St.

ReplyDeleteYoJ: That is a very important point. The middle class is the backbone of our country, and historically it has consisted of people who have worked hard and played by the rules. If (when?) they withdraw their support of the system...that's all folks!
