Re: Pennsylvania 6-5000. Yeah ours was GRanite 9. Back in the day you didn't use numbers like 479you used Granite 9----. What am I missing here? There must be some reason he brought this up. Pennsylvania 6-5000 was the famous Glenn Miller song. This was the number for the Hotel Pennsylvania in NYC. It housed the Cafe Rouge which was a famous hangout for big bands at the time. The Glenn Miller orchestra played there many times, hence the title of the song.

Ha! I remember when we were on a rural party line, and our phone number was 45F3. Our 'ring' was 3 shorts. That was more than 60 years ago. We then had WIndsor 2-2723 until my mom died a couple of years ago.
