Conspicuous gallantry

Hats off to Corporal Dipprasad Pun, a Nepalese soldier who single-handedly held off 30 Taliban militants – in the finest tradition, I might add, of Nepalese martial prowess.

I liked how the sand bag he first picked up emptied out. As somebody on Ace commented, that's probably when he got really pissed.

Gurkhas have always been famous for their fighting skills. The British military insisted on keeping Prince Harry surrounded by Gurkhas when he was in Afghanistan, and it's one of the reasons he agreed to cut short his tour, because he knew they would die for him.
