# 4

A few days ago, I posted about Obama's claim, on 60 Minutes, to be the fourth best president; however, what I didn't know was that the ridiculous statement was edited out by 60 Minutes.

My, how things have changed since the General Westmoreland episode.

Update: a four-million-dollar vacation???

  1. You can make a good case that he considers himself #1. Look at his words. "....with the POSSIBLE exceptions of..." I think that means he's willing to entertain arguments for the other three.

Just after 9/11 the NYT interviewed Clinton. They edited his assertion that they attacked us because of our history of slavery.

  3. Barack Obama is the first president in my lifetime who can make me jump up and down, scream, and pull my hair. He's the first one who can make me want to climb the fence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and pitch rocks at the White House windows.

WV: affronti - what Obama is.

And not because you ever thought he was going to pay your mortgage.

  5. Re editing on 60 Minutes, something occurred to me:

Is Obama actually created by clever editing? He seems more like a presbot invented by an academic committee after all. ('What we need is a great big melting pot...')

If they are so careful to maintain his 'image', does he even actually exist?

VDH has rounded off the year with a fine article asking where is the evidence for all the claims made, such as 'smartest President' etc.

To some extente he is certainly a media creation.

  6. Bruce: You mean he's a kind of cartoon? Hadn't thought about that, but could be.

RebeccaH, if you do decide to take the fence let me know, I'll bring extra rocks. Of course, I'll have to go find some, cuz I used all the ones from my yard. Call it "relieving stress" or "practice". This two-fer works both ways.

Bruce and Paco, Max Headroom perhaps?

  9. Paco, I was thinking more of him as a collage.

  10. Bruce - a collage...assorted bits glued together? Yeah, I'll go with that...if you can somehow work a puppet in there, too, it's even better.
