I guess St. George is still a contender, but I need to make sure I don’t live near the Walmart.
Crews are cleaning up thousands of migratory birds that made a crash landing in southern Utah after apparently mistaking a Walmart parking lot and other areas as bodies of water.Happens to me all the time. I’ve busted more oars that way.
Deborah Leigh said... Tsk, tsk, tsk. Those deceptive parking lots have claimed many a bird, and some outdoorsmen. It's genocide! Obviously, anti-immigrant foul! There should be an investigation costing taxpayers millions and Walmart untold amounts. The GPS (Grebe Protection Society) should sue on behalf of the survivors and the families of the victims. Walmart should be made to place warning systems on their parking lots to let the Grebes know it isn't a lake, pond, etc. The nearby community should have to make such a place for the migrating birds. Barry needs to make a speech from the memorial site.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how many times, in the midst of a winter snow storm, I've mistaken the berm for an outside lane. Thankfully, I haven't run over any wheel rims or street bums yet.
ReplyDelete" I’ve busted more oars that way."
ReplyDeleteI know, and it's embarrassing to all of us. If I could swim I'd come out there and give you a piece of my mind.
Haw!!
ReplyDeleteOK, for some reason, when I started reading that story, I could just hear Les Nessman- "Oh my God, Johnny, they're grebes!!"
ReplyDeleteSo Wal-Mart has been using the old ruse of a Phoney Aquatic Carpark Overlay, to catch poultry?
ReplyDeleteThe inquiry should look into just which organisation sold that concept to Wal-Mart.
Sure am glad that cows can't fly...
ReplyDeleteJust wait until the gooney birds try landing there. When Gorebal Warmening causes Midway Atoll to sink, they'll have to find somewhere else to congregate.
ReplyDeleteWhat, is Alamogordo out of the running?
ReplyDeletePity. Gorgeous area.
It works just as well). So, now that you have some brilliant ideas to design your living room with a fireplace, make sure that it looks welcoming and feels comfortable to everyone in it. They have very valid points on why it's a bad idea. Pressure range: 10-7 mbar If it is, change the switch to the "Set" position.
