An extremely important milestone

Gavin Atkins reminds us that Tim Blair has been blogging for ten years.

Not only is Tim one of the most perceptive and intelligent - and one of the funniest - bloggers going, he is the blogfather for many of us; as everyone knows, I got my start as a blogger in Tim's comments section, as have many others (check out the list under Blairite Blogs at Tizona). Tim's place is also where I acquired my, er, comprehensive knowledge of cricket.

So, let us raise a glass of finest Sumerian mead in a toast to the Best Blogger in the World.

I'll definitely drink to that!!!

Blairs place is where I first met you, my good man Paco, and that alone deserves a healthy toast in the honor of The Mighty Tim Blair!

Here's to both you and Tim, may neither of you ever stop your indispensable writings! May there always be an endless supply of fresh keyboards for the both of you.
Cheers!

A tip of the glass to you and Mr. Blair, Paco. Has it been ten years? Nah, can't be.

We all owe Tim a debt we can never repay.

I'll certainly second that. My first post was in the fall of 2004 during the election cycle. It was so nice to talk to so many people from all over the world in almost realtime.

A toast to Tim and Paco!

And a toast to all of Blairistan!

Just dropped over there and left congrats, on his blogging and his continued good health. May they both endure as long as a cricketer's inning!

Paco said...

Richard: I certainly agree with your sentiment, but that's rather encroaching on eternity, old fellow.

Technically, it only feels that way.

All hail the Creator of the Great and Mighty Blair of OZ, without whom their would be fewer days of less caborn, parties of legend, lasting friendships, and extraodinarily fine blogs such as Paco Enterprises! Let us follow Paco's call to raise a glass of the finest Sumerian mead (not that we have any, Wronwright) (wink, wind)! To Tim! Long may he be a thorn in the side of tyranny and buffoons everywhere!

Paco, won't you be blogging for eternity? Whatever do you expect us to do in the afterlife?

You got dat right. I dunno about y'all, but my pockets are emptier than a construction site after somebody shoulds "La Migra!"

I can't believe it's been 10 years. Thanks for the years of insight and entertainment, Tim AND Paco!

Swampy: Been there, done that and got the T-shirt.

I just posted a message over at Blair. Surprised that there weren't more of the old group over there. I'm interested in how long it will take to post. It's Monday morning there. The moderation really put a damper on it for me with the long delays.

Ya know, I don't even remember how I stumbled upon Blairistan back in 2004. But, I do remember almost immediately feeling at home there. The lot of you Blairites are like good friends, tho we've never met.

Thanks, to Tim, and to you Paco, for providing a place for us all to hang out.

I don't drink, but, yes,
a toast to Tim & Paco!

May your goolies all LBW.

Ooops!

You can see I mispelled that!

Paco said...

Bruce: Er, yes. Yes, of course. I was going to say something about the spelling.

Blair's blog was a place so full of oddballs it was hard to stand out. Only place of its kind, really.

Good on ya, Tim, and on you, Paco, for keeping the fire burning.

[My wife doesn't visit blogs, but I send her copies of your Paco stories, and she loves them.]

Paco said...

JXM: Well, bless her heart! Maybe some day, I'll self-publish a book or an ebook with the Detective Paco, and J. Packington Paco stories, and selected political skits, for a small, but select, group of fans.

I think I saw a link to Tim's at the UniBlogger, so I began visiting during the third week of Dec 2001.
