Robert Mitchum plays a run-down sheriff in El Dorado (special bonus: you get to see commie Ed Asner bopped on the noggin with a rifle).

"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
I've always loved that scene!
ReplyDelete"Let me hear you laugh!"
Not to even mention a smokin' hot Angie Dickinson.
ReplyDeleteMojo: Angie Dickinson was in "Rio Bravo". I like that picture better because of the cast.
ReplyDeleteWhere else could you find Ricky Nelson as a roll your own gunfighter? In addition the Walter Brennan role was great. It featured Ward Bond(one of my absolute favorites) as well as Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez as the hotel owner.
In either case, John Wayne's leading lady was smokin' hawt!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's right, Bodyguard - that's the one Ford made twice.
ReplyDeleteI love it when commies get bashed on the head.
ReplyDeleteDeborah Leigh said... Too bad it's only the movies, because Ed Asner needs to be smacked, at the very least. There are very few people that I truely hate, but Ed has garnered one of those spots.
ReplyDeleteOT (sortof) Couldn't believe that country music legend Reba McIntyr has Asner in her latest video. Why and how is it that people always see him as the kindly old man?
One of my personal favorite Duke lines is from the War Wagon.
ReplyDeleteDuke and Kirk Douglas have just thrown down with two gunhands, with predictable results.
Douglas: Mine hit the ground first.
Duke: Mine was taller.
