Was the whole point of Barack Obama’s presidency to enable his wife to buy a new wardrobe?

Probably not, but sometimes it sure seems that way.

And here’s Obama’s Friedrich Engels celebrating a new trainload of gravy that he’ll be picking up as a result of the demise of the Keystone LX pipeline project. Play that thang, Warren!

Manchurian Moonbat. There's no better reference for the Finger-Puppet-in-Chief.

Mr. H used to sing the praises of Warren Buffett, back a decade and a half or so ago, when we were all still making money on the stock market. Who knew that wizened old gremlin was making his money on backroom deals and backstabbing (like he's doing to the American people wholesale these days, and, worse, singing about it to the Chinese). And were we naive, or just stupid?

The new paradigm for savvy Americans is this: don't trust anyone who wants to "do good" according to Barack Obama's view of things.

And another thing: if Mrs. Obama was going to spend all those tens of thousands on a wardrobe, couldn't she have afforded a few hundred or so to hire a consultant with taste?

Yeah, there's that, too. Her attire always looks a little...strange, somehow.

All the press reports talk about is the $50,000. What about the cost of that 757 she flew in on. The Secret Service protection, the overtime for the NYPD. That was all on the American taxpayer, I presume.

YoJ: Valid points that, unfortunately, get lost in the focus on the mere bling.

1. The 757 was scheduled for a flight to New York anyways, she just grabbed a ride.
2. The Secret Service chaps are already being paid a salary, she's just keeping them occupied and preventing mischief.
3. Overtime for the NYPD is covered by the 'Stimulus', as was her list of purchases.

Cheers

Michelle Obama, she's America's answer to Imelda Marcos.

A generation ago, Imelda Marcos' excesses were seen as shocking, but now?

Imelda's husband was a dictator liberals disapproved of, not a big noise in the Jackass Party. Being concerned liberals exempts them from criticism by the bien pensants for gluttonous, conspicuous consumption. If it had been Laura Bush, there would have been no end of harsh denunciations from the liberals of her shopping habits.
