Why 18 years? The historical average is 16 years. Personally, I would think 12 or 16 years would be more reasonable. Is there a shortage of judges qualified to be SC judges? But, I'm no expert, just my opinion.
Deborah Leigh said....Term limits should have been put in place years ago. And while they're at it, look at the House and Senate.
And one term for President.
A six year term, I should have said. With the condition that they not have served in the Senate or House for 2 years.
