"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of them. I did notice that they appeared with the Vaughn Monroe Orchestra. Monroe was always one of my personal favorites. His Ghost Riders in the Sky has always been up there at the top of my favorits list.
Yeah, I love that tune, too. Also "Racing with the Moon". I'm not a huge fan of male crooners, but Monroe is one of the exceptions.

ReplyDeleteYou can put Frnakie Laine in that camp, too. My favorites are Mule Train and I Believe but he also had hits like That Lucky Old Sun and That's My Desire. A great voice in confluence with great songs ain't half bad.
Oh, I do, I do! There was a kind of joy and passion Frankie Lane put into his songs that was unmatched (and don't forget the theme from Rawhide).
ReplyDelete"Blazing Saddles"?
