In my agency - as is the case with most federal offices - pictures of the president and the vice president hang in the lobby. Biden's photo mysteriously disappeared a couple of weeks ago and hasn't been seen since.
It's a good start.
Update: Ah. Maybe he's taking it with him.

ReplyDeleteHa! We can only hope. We can only hope.
As an aside, Richard Carmona ads just popped up on a local radio station here today. First ad I've heard. And they are swamping the station, three or four times per hour. No, I have no idea what this means but thanks for asking.
You'll be happy to hear that he is a uniter, doesn't worry about party identity and cares deeply about all those without jobs. Wonder why I didn't vote for the guy.:)
In a bureacracy, everything means something. I'm travelling with a copy of Kafka's The Trial, and I saw a copy of Czeslaw Milosz' The Captive Mind here which I will buy if I can fit it in my luggage. We need to keep studying Tyranny. Never forget.
ReplyDeleteSo what Ministry is in charge of photos in lobbys?
ReplyDeleteCan inquiries be made or would one be better off affecting a quizical expression at the word Biden...
"Biden? I'm not familiar with that term?"
Bruce: If Barry is reelected, we may, unfortunately, see some new chapters being written.
ReplyDeleteJonah: I like your idea. "Out of sight, out of mind".
I avoid looking at the chain of command photos in my agency (grinding my teeth is something I also avoid), but there has been some work in that area. I'll check on Monday.
ReplyDeleteMaybe there's hope for my agency.
Well, it's all because Obama hasn't appointed a Secretary of Official Office Photos (SOOP) yet. In his second term, he'll get around to that in addition to all that other stuff he said he was gonna do in his first term.
ReplyDelete(I just threw up in my mouth a little bit)
RebeccaH, shouldn't that be a Czar Of Official Pictures? Or maybe Commisar?
ReplyDeleteCzar Regarding Authorised Photographs …
ReplyDeleteCheers
I bet Biden is taking them down with the intention of replacing them with photos of a young Henry Fonda. We know he has no problem with plagiarism or claiming other's history as his own and he's pretty sure the hair plugs have fooled everyone so he thinks this cunning plan will work too.
ReplyDelete(personally, I don't like presidential photos in public buildings. There is something creepy about the Chief Executive supervising people posting his photo on every wall like he's a Roman Emperor. The only exception I make is when they are in a long line with every previous president – that's history, not advertising. I also think any amount of money spent on them would be better spent elsewhere.)
RebeccaH, I was going to suggest calling it the Provisional Officer of Official Portraits (POOP) but Minicapt's acronym is even better.
Colonel: I wouldn't be at all surprised to see young Fonda's head photoshopped onto Biden.
