Three words on exit polls

President John Kerry.

  1. 2004: Only 53% of voters participated in exit polls. In many states, pollsters needed to be 50' away from polling place entrance. (50' provides a lot of room to get away from pollsters.).) And ~50% of the pollsters were <34. Skewed sample.

(From a 2005 report cited in *Understanding Scientific Reasoning, 5th ed." (2006) which was co-authored by the guy who's in my kitchen fixing supper and not watching tv. Wait. That's a lie. I hear Big Bang.)

Pay no attention to exit polls.
