Happy New Year!

The year in review: it pretty much stunk. At least in the "macro" sense. But we've all got at least some things we can be grateful for. I'm grateful for my family, and glad we're all in good health; however, we need to stay strong - you, me, all of us - for the struggles that lie ahead with our increasingly fascist opponents. The time may be coming when we'll be tested as never before. And for me, the touchstone is, and will always be, liberty. It is more important that a spurious union that represents nothing but a federal yoke of oppressive laws, more important than an illusory peace that rests upon the stilling of our voices, more important than a debased democracy composed of a majority of ideologues, freeloaders and complacent idiots. Obama and the Democrats seek to transform this nation into something that would have horrified the Founders, and that should horrify all citizens today who value their independence. The Republican establishment has become so obsessed with the machinery of government that it has lost all sense of government's legitimate purpose. That leaves "we the people" - historically, not an insignificant force to be dealt with. Let freedom ring in 2013!

Deborah Leigh said ...Paco, all the best wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2013 to you, Mrs. Paco, Mabel, the Paco clan, and the fellow citizens of Paco Nation! I must second Anony's thanks. Your insight, wit, encouragement, and fellowship is provided in a display of such wonderful style that proves your immense talent. Thank you for all! I'm sure (hopefully) that JP will weigh-in from periodically. Perhaps Detective Paco might reappear...one can only hope.

We will always face those who wish to destroy, or remake our exceptional country. Will enough people see the fallacies of Progressive indoctrination, and hold truth so dear that they will rise for liberty? Will they understand that it is not peace that people yearn for; it is liberty. North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela have peace, but not liberty.

There is a scene in "Gladiator" in which a Senator played by Dereck Jacobi is explaining to another Senator why the people will love the tyrannical new Ceaser, Commudus. Ceaser the spectacle of death that they enjoy, and while they are enjoying it he is taking their power slowly. Then one day they will have none, but they will love him anyway because he gave them what they wanted. It is reminiscent of Kruschev's prediction that America would one day be Communist. Let's continue to fight, lest that prediction come to pass, at which time the lamp of liberty would be extinguished.

Happy [same as the old] Year, to all.

It is reminiscent of Kruschev's prediction that America would one day be Communist.

Don't forget, Kruschev failed to predict that Russia would one day not be Communist.

Happy New Year, Paco, Mrs. Paco and Family, Mabel...and all of Paco Nation, including the literary offerings I've come to know and love (Spurgeon...*sigh*).

My life is better for having you all in it. Thank you for every joke, every observation, every snark, every sneer...and every bit of love you share with me every day.

Rock ON, for Liberty, every day, into 2013!

New Year greetings from the Great South Land. Incidentally (he said, trying to not sound like a spammer) I found a great video which really helped me understand your Fiscal Cliff situation.

Happy New Year to all Paconistas.

I believe what old Krushchev said was "We will bury you" while pounding his shoe on the lectern at the UN. He didn't know the half of it. After burying the USSR, we are proceeding to bury ourselves.
