For film buffs

Robert Avrech, having previously provided his list of greatest films from the 1930s and 1940s, has now begun putting together a list of movies from the 1950s. Here are the first three of what will eventually be twenty entries.

Never much cared for Rashomon, one of the few by Kurosawa I didn't like. Don't know why. Seven Samurai, Hidden fortress, Throne of Blood (AKA MacBeth in Nippon), Yohimbo, Sanjuro all outstanding films. And Ran was a true wonder, with it's color and style...
