"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
I'll start. I was walking my dog this morning and got rushed by a gang --- a shih tsu, a chihuahua mix, and a cat. Apparently they all live in the same house, and they don't want you on their sidewalk.
ReplyDelete--- a shih tsu, a chihuahua mix, and a cat, walked into a bar...
ReplyDeleteHave you noticed, since liberals took over the education system, people are getting stupid?
ReplyDeleteCoincidence?
Deborah .... Rebecca, I take these were separate incidents, or it's time to move when the critters form gangs. The cat was the leader, of course.
ReplyDeleteAnyone want to start a pool on how long it takes Paco to get withdrawal symptoms and posts again?
Eric Holder: people who feel threatened have a duty to retreat
ReplyDeleteAh, so, now we know the basis for Obo's foreign policy & national defense.
Run away! Run away!
Talk amongst yourselves, I'll go brew some sweet tea...
ReplyDeleteSo: Bourbon or Tequila?
ReplyDeleteTequila, please.
ReplyDelete'...and a cat'
ReplyDeleteYes I always suspected cats are 'moles', just waiting for a signal to make war on us. I never bought the act.
But if we fatten them up till they can hardly move I think the danger is minimised. Unless they use mind control.
ReplyDeleteDeborah ....Hey! Where's that meade that was stashed...Wron!
ReplyDeleteNo mead? Well, I'll take bourbon, thank you.
ReplyDeleteRebeccaH great starter! And Rinardman reminds me of that joke that makes sense when spoken:
ReplyDelete"I went to the animal sanctuary the other day. But it was just a dog in a cage. It was a Shih Tsu."
We rebottled our mead the other day - ie, filtered out the dead or inactive yeast and funnelled it into a new 1 gallon/5 litre demijohn. I did some tests to try and work out how alcoholic it was and it took me three gos - first test said it was over '1000 per cent alcohol', second, over '130 per cent alcohol', and the third was a relatively acceptable '11-and-a-bit per cent alcohol'. Well, I know the yeast *was* very active, and the sugar content between initial brew-day one and a half months ago and re-bottle day now dropped by quite a large amount. Still, 1000 per cent alcohol!
ReplyDeleteWe have bees so come summer I look forward to hopefully being able to do another batch of mead.
--- a shih tsu, a chihuahua mix, and a cat, walked into a bar...
ReplyDeleteThey each ordered a Limearita, and the bartender said, "You people are animals."
Deborah .... TimT, does Wron have your address?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he does but our mead is a bit too young for him to be interested in I hear.... apparently he's more into the 4th millenium BC vintage.
ReplyDeleteIf there was Sumerian mead it's a surprise they didn't prefer it over their beer. Early Sumerian beer - gloopy stuff, bread that had got a bit too wet basically - was so messy and gunky and clouded that it had to be drunk with straws. By contrast mead would have provided the same pleasant intoxication effects without being anywhere near as messy and probably with a residual sweetness - the yeasts, wild or cultivated, used probably weren't that strong.
ReplyDeleteAny of you old Blairites remember this - http://static.flickr.com/28/46101050_0a9075a492_o.jpg
ReplyDeleteHey, who the hell drank all the bourbon?...
ReplyDeletehttp://timblair.net/ee/index.php/weblog/she_was_called_margo_kingston/
ReplyDeleteCheers
HAW! I do remember that one, r-man!
ReplyDeleteTimT, as I understand it, Sumerian "beer" was actually food that you could drunk from. Like jello shots, only messier and less tasty.
Deborah .... TimT, he isn't that picky. Wron doesn't waste the opportunity for booze based on a millennia.
ReplyDeleteMojo, did you check the Tardis?
Deborah .... Welcome back, Paco. But it was a bit preemptive according to your notification, and verified by the Practical Astronomical Calculating Object.
