"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Deborah .... What's not to love? The scheme was forced on the American people by people who are exempted. It was given a name that was anything but what it is.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best, if not least known parts is the administration of the scheme is being done "off shore" so-to-speak. Canadian firm CGI Federal (the American presence) is a subsidiary of Montreal based CGI Group, that administers Canada's single payer plan. Obama has given them 1.4 billion, so far. This according to the Washington Examiner.
What's not to love,....
There is no single payer plan in Canada; we have a single federal agency providing oversight to the ten or so provincial health agencies which are 'single payer controlled' within the province. And CGI doesn't run any of that.
ReplyDeleteBut CGI does have enough experience and expertise to provide the customer with what the customer asks for, which explains the minor glitches a few people may be experiencing: the system was designed that way.
Cheers
Deborah ....Thanks,Minicapt! I was just going by what was read to me from the Washington Examiner. The point is that the Lefties are always screaming about sending jobs off shore, yet here is CGI.
ReplyDeleteYeah the website's being developed by the people Snowden worked for or something. Booze somebody?
ReplyDeleteThat would be Booze-Allen, Bruce, a goobermint contractor of long standing.
ReplyDeleteAnd, no, I've never liked that firm.
My bad, that's "Booz-Allen".
ReplyDeleteWe have a national health service here, but it was established a few decades ago and was (I assume) computerised in stages. A bit here and a bit there, if you'll pardon the pun.
ReplyDeleteObamacare really sounds like an online nightmare. And a classic example what you get when you combine huge amounts of cash with a 'close enough for government work' mentality.
