Presidential

Obama, on the implosion of his signature program: "We're evaluating why it is exactly that I didn't know soon enough that it wasn't going to work the way it needed to." (H/T: Hot Air)

Well, here's my evaluation, chief. I suspect it's because you had zero interest in the details. You got your legislation passed, and just assumed that the Health Care Fairy would take care of the actual work. Now, Valerie Jarrett will say that that kind of thing frequently happens to geniuses, for whom life, in spite of its variety and complexity, simply doesn't provide enough stimulation for their giant, but apparently numb, brains.

Me? I just think you're an arrogant, lazy dumbass.

So, Obama is trying to figure out why he didn't know "his" website (did you catch that, "my website"?) is a disaster. Did he ever bother to ask during the three years they were supposedly building it? Or is he just lying again. I know what I think.

You left out "lying".

Hey, I'm lazy, too. That's why I've got commenters.

I think Valerie meant to say "simulation".

If Obumbler really wants to know what went wrong with his signature project, I prescribe a strong dose of reading Friedrich Hayek. Hayek can explain to him why the knowledge necessary to run one sixth of the economy is simply never going to be available to arrogant twits like him and his consiglieri. "The Fatal Conceit" is his summation of the matter and is short enough so that Mr. Genius can finiah it without his gigantic brain getting too bored.

To tell the truth, Obumbler never struck me as being particularly intelligent nor intellectually curious. He's not the reader Dubya is. He parrots the politically correct propaganda line well enough (provided somebody tells him what to say) so I guess that is what passes for intelligence among the people he hangs out with.

In a president intellectual firepower is overrated, at least that which his contemporaries see. Who were the presidential intellectual giants of the 20th century, according to the opinions of the bien pensants of the time? Wilson, Hoover, Nixon, and Carter (and maybe Clinton, but I doubt even academics see him as such). They were also the biggest failures. Now who looks ever so much better in retrospect? Coolidge, Eisenhower, and Reagan, all considered dummies by their intellectual and opinion-forming contemporaries. I rest my case. What is needed is good character, executive experience, and common sense.

Being a bureaucrat means never having to say you're sorry. (The responsible person will be found....and promoted.)

Here's a fine illustration of the Rumsfeldian Trinity"

Known known: Obama is a dumbass.

Known unknown: How much of a dumbass is he?

Unknown unknown: What else is this dumbass incredibly bad at doing?

Steve,
But that last is a known known, everything.
