"polar vortex" is apparently a term from the 1950s that the press was recently told about - I still refer to its effect in my area by an older term, the "Montreal Express."
In Ohio, bitter cold sweeping down from Canada is known as "the Alberta Clipper" because it always comes from the northwest. Polar vortex is a new one on me, but whatever. It's not really a new phenomenon.

ReplyDeleteDeborah ...."Polar Vortex" was a first to me. It sounds like a New Age, hippie term. But who knows. However, I didn't think a vortex acted like this.
