2nd amendment advocacy = terrorism

“Documents from an Ohio National Guard (ONG) training drill conducted last January reveal the details of a mock disaster where Second Amendment supporters with 'anti-government' opinions were portrayed as domestic terrorists.”

But of course! Just like the Boston Marathon. Or 9/11.

“Portsmouth Chief of Police Bill Raisin told NBC 3 WSAZ-TV in Huntington, West Virginia that the drill accurately represented ‘the reality of the world we live in,’ adding that such training ‘helps us all be prepared.’”

Hey, why stop there? You know what else mirrors reality? The zombie apocalypse. Also space aliens. And triffids. And don’t forget the long-running BBQ wars (vinegar-based vs. tomato); that violence could spill over into Ohio at any time.

Just watched Gabriel Over the Whitehouse again, and it's really a very strange movie, even granting the hysteria and hyperbole of the time.

Stranger still, it was written by a Brit, based on his experiences as adviser to British PM Lloyd George.

It's chilling to think that the movie was much admired by FDR.

Hey, you never know what all those white-haired, pot-bellied Tea Party types might get up to. Sadly, however, it leaves the Ohio National Guard completely unprepared for real terrorist acts.

But those will be "Homeland Contingency Operations" Rebecca, and out of the ONG's jurisdiction. Terrorism is a law enforcement matter, which worked so well before 9/11/2001 until that stupid Dubya screwed things up. We can't have soldiers participating in police matters. Posse comitatus dontcherknow. Now Tea Partiers are obviously rebels, Confederate sympathizers (just ask any member of the Congressional Black Caucus) and the Army can participate in putting down acts of rebellion.

Crikey, d'ya think that's their actual excuse?!
