Global warming Luddites

When it comes to scientific knowledge, who's better informed, warmistas or warming skeptics?

Take a guess.

No surprise, there. Climate alarmism is deeply rooted in emotionalism, not factual knowledge. I remember having an argument with a colleague years ago about the actual likelihood of danger from warming, and, in the end, her "reason" for believing that we were all at risk pretty much literally boiled down to "Because!"

  1. I've already discovered that True Believers in the Cause du jour are impervious to logic and facts. It's a waste of time and energy to try and convince them. They only learn when reality smacks them in the face, and I'm not convinced they really absorb all of it then.

  2. Rebecca: When realty smacks progressives in the face, their answer is always the same: "It's those filthy Capitalists and their dirty money that thwarted our March Into the Glorious Future.
Because the theory can't possibly be wrong. Sooner or later, comrade, the theory will prove to be right!

  3. I've known this American lady for 30 years, named Kavita Byrd:

And she was the same, demanding I accept 'because'. Quite a character, is 'Byrd' always a well-born Democrat name? She may come from 'those Byrds'. I never asked.

  4. Back before and during WWII there was an Admiral Richard Byrd who was famous for his Antarctic explorations. I have no idea of his politics, but before WWII officers often thought it was inappropriate to vote, because they ought not to take part in political affairs, owing to civilian control of the military.
