The sport has been around a long time, but it's still full of surprises.

Not sure why it's such a big deal. If it was the first time it had been done, yeah, that's different. But, I'm sure it's been done before. In fact, I've seen it. In a softball league I played in some 35 years ago. Only the leaper overshot home plate, and didn't land as gracefully, and was tagged out.

But, he had the same idea, just didn't execute as well.

Didn't Willy Mays Hayes do that in the '89 playoffs for the Indians?
That was a good series.

I don't care whether it was the first or hundredth time it's been done; it was the first time I ever saw it, and I think it was an exciting feat.

I was talking the movie Major League. Young Wesley Snipes playing a small, fast, lead-off hitter.
It was in all the theaters.
