Happy New Year!

Best wishes for a great 2018! And may the Winning never end.

And for our enemies, may the losing go on forever.

Happy New Year, Paco clan and Pacoistas. I have just spent a wonderful day in Florida with a whole cadre of family (only regretting it wasn't all of them), the best way I could think of to end 2017 and to begin 2018. Whatever comes, we made a bunch of new sweet memories. I wish the same for all of you.

May all the Pacos, sangre and non, have a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2018! 2018 gave us much to be happy about. To President Trump (never get tired hearing that), "Please, sir, can we have more."

We just had a big summer hailstorm, some hailstones half the size of golf balls and the whole thing went for quite a while. Now I have to check whether the garage roof survived and the lawnmower is ok. We need a new roof on it but I was procrastinating. It's rusted from Eucalytpus sap.

I give thanks to the inventor of duct tape which is over the holes in my rusty garage roof. Even in that ferocious barrage, not one breach.

The cockatoos are all squawking excitedly, it sounds like Jurassic Park. Even the mysterious black cockatoos which travel in pairs, with their plaintive cry. They're not usually seen or heard here, only in the deep bush.

Bruce: sounds a bit like apocalypse, but duct tape - one of the greatest inventions of all time - may yet see you through.

The photo of Hillary's book must be old because by now it's in the bargin bin. The "village" didn't rush.

Bruce, most American Indians AKA Native Americans share your praise. Many moccasins (and other parts of one's dance outfit (also referred to as regalia) have been repaired with duct tape at pow wows.

There is a large parrot population in the San Gabriel Valley. I've heard the cacophony. Glad I don't live in the apartments that are next to the trees the birds favor.

I didn't know there were black cockatoo. Must be a sight.

Good luck with the summer. We now have a new tape called Flexi Tape. Haven't used it yet. The commercial shows a boat cut in half, then reassembled with Flex Tape, and finally sailed across the Everglades.
