The New York Post reports that Comello killed Calli because the mob boss would not allow him to date the mobster's niece. So maybe not a mob hit at all. I predict that Comello will not live much longer no matter what his motivation for the killing.

Maybe not a mob hit, but a new twist on Romeo and Juliet. I think you're right about that not making much difference to the mob.
