"Complete whitewash"

So says Ace of Spades of the Horowitz report released today.

Fortunately, AG William Barr and US Attorney John Durham have (very politely) indicated that Horowitz is full of shit in some of his most important conclusions (you know, the ones that the Dems and the press will immediately jump on and tout as exoneration of the FBI).

The success (or not) of Barr and Durham in eventually bringing the coup plotters to justice will let us know pretty definitively whether the Deep State can be unwound, or at least brought to heel, under the law, or whether we shall truly have to begin contemplating an alternate political path to the one our erstwhile fellow citizens envision for us.

We've learned to expect this. The last 3 years have been quite an eye-opener. Some sort of Boston Tea Party is again called for, but of course that recently fizzled too.

There may be a few scapegoats who will suffer the consequences, but the Big People on top will get away with it as usual. That fact makes me really, really angry.

If no one Horowitz interviewed admitted to acting on political bias, he can honestly claim he "found no political bias".

Rebecca,

There won't be any scapegoats suffering any consequences. Horowitz referred Comey himself for prosecution in his previous report, and the DoJ said, "Nah".

Barr and Durham will be the ones dishing out "consequences" and I suspect some of the "Big People on top" WILL be seeing the inside of a federal courtroom.

As Congress and the President apparently have equal power, if they 'impeach' him, can't he impeach them right back? They have certainly committed high crimes and misdemeanors. Why not impeach the whole house and dismiss them? The idea of a collective impeachment may be novel but it would follow the spirit of the law when an entire institution has become criminally dysfunctional.
