Bernie had a rally in Phoenix yesterday, the same place as Trump's a week or two ago. Wed night they went to see all the people camping out, the way they did with Trump. There was a decided lack of anybody camping out. They went the day of the rally and it was pitiful. All the shots were tight or they did this thing where the camera went down the 'line' but they only showed it speeded way up so you wouldn't notice it wasn't really a line, just a couple hundred people standing around waiting for the doors to open. You could see them taking down barriers that channeled lines cuz there just a bunch of people strolling along, not really in a line, just lining up because that was the entrance.
He blocked off much of the stadium and there were only some lazy people sitting in the seats, the rest of the 1500 or so people were standing up front. Trump probably had more ushers than Bernie had supporters.
And just to make it a little more hilarious, there was a helicopter with Trump 2020 going over the crowd. High-larious.
What is it with all these totalitarian-loving millionaires. Why can't they just go enjoy their money and get themselves a string of trophy wives, the way millionaires used to do?
Rebecca: I think a lot of them are obsessed with their "legacies"; they want to be remembered - or, to be more accurate, adored. Also, many (if not most) are very smart at making money, which leads them to believe, incorrectly, that they're smart at everything else. Egotists, one and all.
